“Wanting to protect someone you loved & doing it were 2 different things…”Gruesome. Thrilling. In your face. Don’t make the same mistake I did and read this book at night. It packs a punch and you will have nightmares. I am only sorry I didn’t expose myself to Lizzy sooner. T.R. is right up there with the likes of S. King. This book is not for the light-hearted or sour stomached. Lizzy is an amazing lead character who grows throughout the story. I love how the story gives history and flashbacks when needed, but doesn’t delve into everything all at once. You think you have the mystery figured out; you think you know who the killer is; but you are sorely mistaken. I can assure you, you wont be disappointed in the “cover you eyes” department with this book. Tread lightly and happy reading. But good luck trying to sleep….

Thirty-Two and a Half Complications by Denise Grover Swank

My my my, how Rose has grown. So amazing to see the confident woman she has become since 28 and 1/2. She knows what she wants and she is sticking by it. Rose doesn’t let people push her around, friend or foe. However, she never disappoints in the multi-tasking, adventurous department. Robberies, babies, business decisions, visions, complications…Her plate is full. Thank goodness she has Jonah to help her organize her thoughts; and Mason to support her decisions. However, she has Violet, Joe and the robbers to thank for her complications; but was that a pregnancy test falling out of her purse??? Through this entire series you will never be disappointed. Denise reels you in at the first sentence and you’re hooked until the last line. Can never get enough of this crappy doodles fun!!!!

His silence revealed my small victory. I didn’t know what had come over me, but he brought out a side of me I hadn’t seen in quite some time.

“You’ll regret your tone with me soon.” He hung up. 

I forced my fist against the steering wheel, causing the horn to startle me and a weary-looking Jenny as she walked through her door into my view.

I gave her an “I’m sorry” look and got out of the car. I walked up to her, grabbing her bag and taking it to her trunk.

“What was that all about?” she asked.

“I just got a phone call from James.”

“And?”

“And nothing. We’ll talk about it when we get back to my house. Just follow me,” I said.

“Hold on. I left my keys on the counter.” 

I got back into my car as she ran back inside. A few seconds later, her car exploded with a violent bang and my ears began to ring. Smoke filled the sky, and orange and yellow light danced in the darkness.

Trisha has done it again…..This book is like a combination of The Last Year meets X Men meets the X Files, and yet it is completely different. Trust no one however. Gypsy is an amazing young lady. She thought she had life figured out, only to find out nothing was what it seems. Now she is attempting to live a ‘normal’ life. High school. Friends. Boys. A father she never knew. Through it all she must stay true to the Cavies. Who can she trust? How can she figure out her real story? Balancing both of her “lives” takes its toll and as usual, nothing is as it seems. This book is exciting; dramatic; dark; heart wrenching; and mysterious. I had the pleasure of receiving and reading this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, if you don’t read this book, you are missing out. 5 stars!!
